Waxing FAQs: First Time Brazilian Wax Questions | Waxing in Southwest Las Vegas

FAQ: First Time Brazilian Wax Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions you’re too nervous to ask out loud:
If you've been thinking about booking your first Brazilian wax but keep talking yourself out of it, this one's for you. I get these questions in DMs, in texts, sometimes whispered in the treatment room right before we start. And I get it. There's a lot of unknowns when it comes to letting a stranger wax your most sensitive areas for the first time.

the anxiety you're feeling right now? Completely normal. The questions swirling around in your head? I've heard every single one. And none of them are weird, embarrassing, or "too much."

I built Garden Artistry in Southwest Las Vegas specifically for people who've been putting this off.

  • Honestly? A little. Especially your first time.

    Client rating average:
3 minutes of “okay, I feel that” (6/10 pain,)
15-20 seconds of “hellll nahh”. (7-8/10)
5 minutes of smooth, easy removal (1-2/10).
    Total time: varies 10-15 minutes

I use premium sensitive skin soft wax, I go fast on purpose, and I talk you through every step so nothing sneaks up on you. First-timers are literally my favorite. Making this feel manageable for anxious clients is what I built my Body Waxing studio around

  • Waxing isn’t one-and-done. It’s a process. Plan to get a few appointments in before the wedding night or that 2-week vacay!

Your first few waxes are part of the

“Hair Cycle Syncing Period”, most clients see about 5-6 days of super-smooth results at first.

As you stay consistent and follow aftercare, your hair growth will slow and you’ll work up to 1-2 weeks of bald , and then up to 2–3 weeks of totally bald coochie before regrowth.

  • During pregnancy hormones and increased blood flow can increase sensitivity, and cause hair to grow in thicker and faster.

If you plan to wax throughout pregnancy, starting early helps. Consistent waxing weakens the hair over time, which can make later appointments easier.

I specialize in comfort-first Brazilian waxing. I adjust everything to support you through each stage of pregnancy: positioning changes, wedge pillow, pregnancy-safe products, smaller sections, and a slower, more supportive pace when needed.

  • Vulvas don’t smell like nothing. Vulvas smell like vulvas. It’s totally normal to smell a little like sweat or even a little metallic-y on your period. You’re not weird or gross.

This is my day-to-day job, and if sweat or discharge freaked me out I’d be in the wrong field. If showering before your appointment helps your anxiety, go for it! But it’s not a required pre-wax step.

If you’re coming straight from your busy life, I always have wipes available so you can freshen up and remove things like sweat or pant lint before we start. Bottom line: come as you are. I’ve got you.

  • It depends on your flexibility and what feels comfortable for your body. For most of the service you’ll be in a butterfly position (knees out, feet together).

If that doesn’t work, we'll switch it up; one leg extended at a time, one leg off the table, or one knee bent upright. For the back side, you’ll either bring your knees toward your chest, or we can have you turn on your side with one leg in the knee-to-chest position.

No one is too big, too inflexible, or too much to get waxed. Waxing is for Every. Body. and we’ll work together to keep you comfortable for the quick service.

  • Years of shaving leaves a trail. Razor bumps, dark spots, ingrowns buried under the skin.

I've seen it all, and none of it is a reason to wait. Your skin will actually improve the more consistent you are.

The "Hair Cycle Syncing Period" is real, your first few waxes are the roughest. But stay consistent, follow aftercare, and most clients see real skin improvement by their 3rd or 4th appointment.

Don't wait until your skin is "ready." Waxing is how it gets there.

You’re more ready than you think

If you've been on the fence, I hope this answered the questions that were holding you back. First-timers are genuinely my favorite, there's something really special about helping someone feel confident and comfortable for the very first time.
